November 29, 2001 - Conxxus to Deploy Wave7 Optics FTTH Solution
Innovative Last Mile Link System to Serve 10,000 Homes by 2002
ALPHARETTA, GA, November 29, 2001: Optical access company Wave7 Optics, Inc.,
has announced that their Last Mile LinkTM Fiber-to-the-Home system has been
selected for deployment by Conxxus, LLC, of Paxton, IL, to serve customers with
high-speed data, voice and video services. Conxxus will initially deploy the
Last Mile Link to serve 2000 homes with expansion plans to serve 10,000 homes
through 2002.

a competitive price point. Wave7 Optics’ Last Mile Link architecture provides
the most costeffective solution that allows us to offer those services over an

to provide a fiber-to-the-home solution because it would allow us to give our
customers a flexible range of services over a single state-of-the-art network.
After comparing all of the optical access technologies available today, we chose
Wave7 Optics because they offer the most feature-rich and practical solution on
the market.”
The Wave7 Optics advanced optical access system provides video (CATV and
digital, including IP streaming), high-speed data and telephony services
(IP-based or circuit-based) to subscribers with dedicated and on-demand
symmetrical data rates of up to 500 Mb/sec/subscriber. The Last Mile Link
architecture is standards-based, cost-competitive with current HFC
implementations, and includes industry-leading Quality-of-Service (QoS)
mechanisms for enhanced features. The solution overcomes the high fiber counts,
limited distance range and high equipment costs of competing FTTX solutions,
such as passive optical networks (PONs).
