January 8, 2001 - Larry Thalacker Named Director of Hardware Engineering, Wave7
Optics
Alpharetta, GA, January 8, 2001 – Fiber-to-the-home high technology start-up,
Wave7 Optics, Inc. announced today that Larry Thalacker would join the company
as Director of Hardware Engineering.
“Larry brings to Wave7 Optics over 20 years of experience in design and
development of advanced hardware modules and systems for Data and
Telecommunications applications,” said James Farmer, chief technology officer.
“Larry’s track record of bringing products and systems to market in start-up
environments will help us realize our vision of a cost-effective fiber network
to the residence.”
Thalacker was formerly director of hardware design and technology for ECI
Telecom, a company developing telecommunications systems. At ECI, he was
responsible for all aspects of hardware development, with products ranging from
customer premises POS/FRADs and multi-service adaptors/multiplexers , to
multi-gigabit frame relay/ATM switches and concentrators. Prior to ECI,
Thalacker was one of the first employees for a successful technology start-up,
Telematics International, Inc.
