January 8, 2001 - Emmanuel Vella Named CMO, Wave 7 Optics
Alpharetta, GA, January 8, 2001 – Fiber-to-the-home high technology start-up,
Wave7 Optics, Inc. announced today that Emmanuel Vella would serve as Chief
Marketing Officer.
“Emmanuel has a wealth of experience in marketing broadband network devices to
customers building communications networks,” said Thomas Tighe, President and
CEO. “His understanding of the challenges facing network operators and the
requirements for next-generation broadband systems will play a pivotal role in
defining Wave7 Optics’ product offering and market strategy.”
For the past ten years, Vella has been actively involved with multiple system
operators (MSOs) in the development and deployment of state-of-the-art optical
systems for video, voice and data. Prior to Wave7 Optics, Vella served as Vice
President and General Manager of the Broadband and Optical Transmission Business
Unit at Antec, a major communications equipment company. Prior to joining Antec,
Vella was employed by Harmonic Lightwaves, Inc., then a Silicon Valley-based
venture capital start-up, focused on the development and commercialization of
Nd:YAG 1310nm transmitters.
Vella has published several articles in Multichannel News, Communications
Technology, Inter@ctive Week and CED magazines.
