October 4, 2004 - BroadRiver Digital to Deploy “Last Mile Link” System from
Wave7 Optics
Atlanta, GA – October 4, 2004 – Wave7 Optics Inc., the world’s
leading supplier of point-to-multipoint Ethernet FTTP (fiber-to-the-premises)
systems for residential and business services, today announced that BroadRiver
Digital, a wholly-owned subsidiary of HKL LC (Kukwa-Lemmerz family of Cologne,
Germany), will deploy the Wave7’s “Last Mile Link” FTTP system in a series of
planned residential developments, beginning in 4Q 2004.
BroadRiver’s first FTTP project will be the Carriage Ridge development, located
in Green County approximately 70 miles east of Atlanta in the Lake Oconee
region.
“We are going to deploy the full suite of triple play voice, IP video and
high-speed data services in these developments,” said Trey Brantley, President
of BroadRiver Digital. “After evaluating several systems, we determined that
FTTP would be the best way to provide these services. Wave7’s product and format
stood out in terms of initial capital expenditure and technical capability, such
as their standard Ethernet and IP interfaces and Layer 3 management capability
to simplify network deployment and operations.”
“This is further evidence of the cost parity FTTP has achieved with other forms
of broadband when it comes to green field developments,” said Tom Tighe, CEO of
Wave7 Optics. “In fact, when one factors in the bandwidth superiority and
‘future proof’ qualities of the Last Mile Link system, it becomes a clear cut
cost advantage.”
Wave7 Optics is exhibiting the complete LML product line at the FTTH Council
Conference this week in Orlando, October 4 – 6, at the Caribe Royale Hotel and
Convention Center (booth 706).
