First ILEC to Offer FTTP in Indiana to Connect Additional
Subscribers
Maxwell, IN / Atlanta, GA – February 9, 2004 – Hancock Telecom today announced
the selection of Wave7 Optics’ Last Mile Link™ optical broadband systems for a
series of new deployments scheduled for 2004 and beyond. The Hancock Telecom
companies include an ISP and a long-distance arm currently serving customers in
and around the Maxwell area.
“As an Indianapolis suburb, the Maxwell area has seen significant growth in new
housing developments. As a result, we anticipate gaining approximately 3000
homes in our service area over the next several years, of which close to 1500
are in varying stages of construction now,” said Tim Hills, CEO of Hancock
Telecom. “We were an early adopter of the Wave7 technology. Over the past
eighteen months, both companies have learned a significant amount about the
technology and deployment issues, and based on our mutual success to date, we're
