Press Release

June 05, 2006 - Wave7 Optics and EMBARQ Logistics Sign FTTP Network Distribution Agreement Targeting Independent Telephone Companies

Alpharetta, Ga. / Overland Park, Ks. – June 5, 2006 – Wave7 Optics Inc., a market leader in fiber-to-the-home and -premises (FTTH/P) broadband equipment for residential and business services, and EMBARQ Logistics, the deployment, distribution and logistics division of Embarq (NYSE: EQ), today announced a distribution agreement that will help meet the growing demand from independent telephone companies to deploy FTTP networks.

The EMBARQ Logistics product portfolio will now include Wave7’s new “universal PON” Trident7™ Optical Access platform and Wave7’s widely-deployed Last Mile Link (LML) Ethernet-based FTTP system. The Trident7 system fully supports the two emerging dominant FTTP standards – IEEE 802.3ah Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) and ITU-T G.984 Gigabit-capable PON (GPON) – as well as the LML technology.

“Wave7 Optics has established itself as a premier provider of FTTP networks and its equipment will be an important addition to our portfolio,” said Brad Clark, vice president of Marketing and Sales at EMBARQ Logistics. “We reached this agreement with Wave7 because of the company’s leadership role in the independent telco space. Furthermore, their flexible deployment options, including the ability to offer GPON and EPON EFM via the same platform, mean we can now offer this customer set an even more compelling end-to-end FTTP solution.”

“We are excited about the prospect of working with EMBARQ Logistics and the many opportunities they will help create for us in this important market sector,” said Emmanuel Vella, CMO of Wave7 Optics. “As seen in our current deployments with independent telcos, our Trident7 and Last Mile Link systems offer numerous deployment and operational advantages to create the best in triple-play services for end users -- and we look forward to expanding our activities with these network operators.”

Globalcomm visitors are invited to see the Trident7 system displayed in the booth of EMBARQ Logistics (21074).

Wave7 Optics has established itself as an industry leader in optical broadband access systems with an expanding FTTP product portfolio featuring a variety of architectural options, based on IP and Ethernet or ATM standards, for "triple play" voice, video and data services. The company's patented Last Mile Link and Trident7 systems are gaining market share rapidly around the world with service providers in the IOC, CLEC, MSO, municipal, utility and real estate development categories.
