February 13, 2006 - Suttle / Grupo RedIP / Wave7
Optics to Perform Live FTTP Demo at Expo Comm Mexico
ALPHARETTA, GA / MEXICO CITY - February
13, 2006 - The leading FTTP (fiber-to-the-premises) partnership operating in
Mexico today -- Suttle, Grupo RedIP and Wave7 Optics - will operate a live FTTP
demonstration at Expo Comm Mexico 2006, taking place at the Centro Banamex in
Mexico City, February 14 - 17. Potential customers will have the opportunity to
see at booth 2018D a live "end to end" FTTP infrastructure, including the
head-end or central office "OLT" (optical line terminal) equipment connected to
a subscriber "ONT" (optical network terminal) gateway device located in a media
distribution panel.
"We are very excited about showing the
exact combination of technologies that we are using in our projects and that are
working in Mexico today. Our relationship with Wave7 Optics and their Trident7
platform gives RedIP the freedom to mix and match technologies, whether it be
EPON or GPON for our customers. This is important to us as an integrator
because we have long-term relationships with developers and carriers who need to
'future proof' their networks," said Clyde Nelsen, President and CEO of Grupo
RedIP, S.A. de C.V. "Additionally, the Media Distribution Panel provided by
Suttle, for inside the home or business, provides a clean and secure location to
distribute services, whether triple play, home automation or whatever the future
holds."
"Working with RedIP and Suttle is
helping us to expand rapidly in Mexico and we are pleased to have this
opportunity to demonstrate our Trident7 FTTP technology and the flexible
deployment options this platform enables," said Emmanuel Vella, Chief Marketing
Officer, Wave7 Optics.
In addition, Jim Farmer, Chief
Technology Officer of Wave7 Optics, will give two presentations -- one
concerning the two dominant FTTP standards and the other analyzing the impact
IPTV (Internet protocol television) will have on FTTP deployments. Farmer will
participate in the "TV over IP" session, as part of the "VON" conference
program, on February 15th from 10:30 am - noon and will address "EPON and GPON -
The Future of FTTP" on February 15th from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m., as part of the Top
Technology conference program.
